I bought this as my first-ever MP3 player last fall and have become addicted to it! Sound quality is better than my husband's brand-new iPod touch which cost 3x as much. The earbuds that come with it have great sound quality but are a bit too big for my ears. I bought a smaller name-brand pair for $35 but they don't sound anywhere near as good, so I keep coming back to the Sansa earbuds unless I'm exercising and need them not to slip out.
The player doesn't come with many instructions, but there is a 44-page user manual on the SanDisk web site [...]. After I found this, I had no trouble getting any of the features on the player to work.
Love the turning wheel for volume control and scrolling.
Also love the ability to insert external microSD cards. Player will shuffle between all songs, no matter whether they are stored in internal memory or on an external microSD card. Also, you can keep large files like audio books or foreign language lessons on a separate card without tying up space you need for music.
Two caveats: (1) When the player is new, the headphone jack is extremely tight. Make sure the phones are pushed in all the way or you won't hear the full range of sound. (2) The player does occasionally "freeze" with all controls inoperable. When this happens, hold the power switch up for 15 seconds to "reboot" the unit.

I bought a Sansa Fuze for my 12 year old son about a year ago. We've had no problems with it and it has stood up to the rough handling of his 9 year old brother and 6 year old sister. I liked it so much that I bought another Sansa Fuze this summer for my 9 year old.
I have had a difficult time loading video onto both Fuzes, even using the Sansa Media Converter that is available online. I have a Sansa View also, and had no trouble loading video onto it, so I'm not sure what the problem is.
Sound is a little fuzzy, compared to the View, in the car using an FM transmitter. But overall, I'm glad I purchased both of the Fuzes. They've have been durable and reliable, and are simple for my kids to use.

I bought this for my 7 year old after her Sansa Shaker died. Although she loved the fact that the Shaker played with out headphones, I just couldn't see buying another one. After checking reviews of tons of MP3 players I decided that this one seemed to be the best option for her at this time.
I was so surprised when it arrived earlier than expected and was ready to go. My 14 year old added all the music for her in a matter of minutes and she was off dancing.
The only issue with it has been mentioned before by others and it is that the headphone jack on the bottom. It begins to slip out after a while and needs to be pushed back in, again it is a little issue and nothing that would keep me from buying another one.
She has only had it for a day, but so far I have a very happy 7 year old.

Amazon's service was excellent as usual. Product came in perfect condition. Very clear instructions. Bought this as a gift for my grandson and he is thrilled with it. My wife has one identical to it, also through Amazon, and she feels the same. The quality of the headphone that came with it was surprisingly good.
