Great mp3 player July 26, 2010 michiganmaniac897 Love this little thing. Perfect for holding the music or talks I want to listen. SO DURABLE! Dropped it countless times, even in water 2 different times and it still works and plays great!
No complaints, but one July 25, 2010 Steven Deng (colorado springs, CO) Great simple design from Sansa, got it July 2010. Easy to use. Quality wise I do not know.
Drawback. When playing a song, you cannot go to the middle of the song, you have to start at the begining, unless I missed something.
Great mp3 player, great picture, and song.
Bang for the Buck July 7, 2010 Judy-Joan-Joni (Northern California) This is an amazing little player. It does more than I could ever hope to want for the money that I paid at Best Buy. I was going to buy the 2GB, but when I saw what I was getting for $20 more, I'm glad I did it.
Creative can go pound sand now. This little beauty shows videos, has sound choices: Rock, Jazz, Classical, plus 5 others, plus a Custom setting. I have a new Windows 7 computer, and it worked right away.
As I said, I owned a Creative Nomad Jukebox with a 40 gig capacity, but Creative refuses to update its $300 players, so I changed over to Sansa.
The sound quality is amazing. I plugged it into my car speakers, and holy cripes it sounds good and clear. (Unlike the Creative that had sound quality issues).
So, if you're in the market for something beautiful, will hold your photos, videos, make sound recordings, and has a nifty little radio, then go out of your way to buy one. You won't be sorry.
PERFECT FOR JUST LISTENING TO MUSIC July 3, 2010 yekomod I just needed something to listen to while I worked out & this does it for me! The battery last FOREVER!!
Repeated Use of Warranty - Screen Issues July 1, 2010 Jags48Center Quick Review:
I wouldn't buy this device if you are looking for something to last awhile, but if you are looking for a quick, temporary MP3 player that looks nice and has plenty of memory, then this is your device. The MP3 player plays well, but it appears that it wasn't built to stand the test of time, no matter how well you take care of it.
Detailed Review:
This MP3 player is good for a few months to a year. The device has good audio quality and can hold plenty of songs. It also has a feature to automatically add clear stations to a list, so that you can easily switch between stations. (Stations are removable, so you can create a favorite station list and only switch between stations you like with a single press of a button)
I like the size of the MP3 player, it fits everywhere and can take rough bumps. The device is sturdy and still looks nice with a few scratches here and there.
The design of the MP3 player is also very simply. A simply 5 button interface with a scrolling wheel in the center, along with a switch on the side. Each holds generic basic functions and there are even icons to help a new user get along. There really isn't a need for a "map" of the interface in order to find out what each button does. If you are searching for a function, you can usually find it by simply pressing the menu button, if you can't remember the shortcut button. (Note: There is a HOME button, which takes you to the main menu and has a picture of a house, but there is a MENU button in the center of the rotating wheel which pulls up a menu depending on where you are in your MP3 player.)
My only complaint about the design: The jacks to charge and load songs/pics/etc to your MP3 player, and the jack for your headphones are way to close. When you plug both in there isn't a way to easily remove the data cable without removing the headphones. This can be a little pain in a hurry, since when both are plugged in, removing the headphones can be slightly more annoying than usual, due to restricted space.
It holds more than enough space for me, and for the people who, for some reason, need more space, there is a slot for a Micro-SD card on the side, which will allow you to boost your MP3 Player's memory.
The video quality isn't that good, I wouldn't watch a video on this device, period. (If you are looking to watch videos on your MP3 Player, this is NOT the device for you. The quality is terrible unless the video was practically made to be watched on this device.) Same goes for viewing images, the quality is generally low.
The negative thing I have about this device are how long the battery lasts, and how long the actual device lasts.
The battery depletes its maximum charge rapidly, how ever the fact that it manages its battery power very well does help balance this out. I have made my current MP3 player last a week on a battery that only has half of its original maximum charge.
As for the device, the screen is an issue for me. I have gone through two of these, and am about to contact Sansa about replacing my current device.
My first device's screen went completely white. I couldn't tell if the device still worked since I couldn't navigate to radio or songs. It, how ever, no longer worked, period, and I had to contact Sansa for a replacement.
My second device, the one I am currently getting technical support with, suddenly started showing horizontal white lines across the screen, which are slowly taking over and possibly leading to the same effect as my first device (Though there wasn't a stage of white lines on the first device.) The device still plays songs, how ever I can hardly see what I am doing, and its rather annoying.
Both devices started malfunctioning within a year of acquiring them. I took excellent care of both devices, particularly the second since I didn't want to go through the troublesome support team again. It could be my luck, but a google search yields results showing that there are several others with the same problem as me.
